Smooth walls.
Smooth ceilings.
Popcorn ceilings and heavy wall texture date a house faster than anything else in it. We take them down to a smooth surface, then prime and paint in the same job. One contractor from start to finish, so you’re not waiting on a texture crew before a paint crew can start.

What we take down
Popcorn ceilings
Scraped, smoothed, primed, and painted.
Heavy wall texture
Knockdown, orange peel, or anything heavy enough to look dated. Skimmed and sanded flat.
Old wallpaper
Paper and glue off without tearing up the drywall underneath.
The paint after
Primed and painted in the same job, so the room is finished when we leave.
What to expect
This is messy work. We cover everything and clean up every day, but texture removal makes more dust than painting does. I’ll tell you up front how long each room will be out of commission, so you can plan around it.
Popcorn ceilings in older homes can contain asbestos. If your house is older, we test it before anybody scrapes. No guessing.
Before & after
Our jobs, our photos.

Texture removal
Heavy wall texture removed, leaving a smooth surface for paint.
What customers say
I have no doubt that the sale of my house, which was only on the market 7 days, was due largely in part to the work Ideal had done for our family. Our home showed pride in ownership which made for a very easy sell.
Straight answers
Is texture removal worth it before selling?
Often, yes. Popcorn and heavy texture are some of the first things buyers notice in a dated house. Smooth walls and ceilings photograph better and show better.
Do I have to move out?
No. But plan on each room being off limits for a few days while it’s done.
Do you test for asbestos?
Yes, on older homes, before anybody scrapes a popcorn ceiling.
Can you match texture instead of removing it?
Yes. If you’re patching a repair and want it to blend in with the rest of the wall, we match the existing texture. Repairs.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Once the measurements are confirmed, the price I quote is the price you pay.
Where do you work?
I work out of Mesquite and cover all of Dallas County. Past the county line, I’m in Richardson, Plano, Murphy, Sachse, Wylie, Rowlett, Fate, Heath, Forney, and Arlington. Don’t see your town? Call me anyway. I’ll tell you straight if I can get there.
